Biblical Prophecies Revealed: The Anticipation of Muhammad in the Torah and Gospel"
It might be interesting for you to know that the birth and emergence of Prophet Muhammad were prophesied in the heavenly religions like Christianity and Judaism. All Christian and Jewish scholars were awaiting the birth of the Prophet of Islam as the final prophet of the end times. This matter shows that all prophets were sent by the one God and had a single message for humanity: the worship of the one and merciful God and kindness to one another. In this article, I want to discuss the prophecies of the divine religions regarding the Prophet of Islam.
In the Gospel of John, it is written: “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come.”
It is also mentioned that Jesus Christ began to speak to His disciples and said: “Blessed are those who listen to His words when He comes into the world, for the mercy of God will overshadow them, just as this palm tree provides us shade. Indeed, just as this tree protects us from the scorching heat of the sun, so too will the mercy of God protect the believers in that name from the evil of Satan.” The disciples replied, “O Teacher! Who will be that person you speak of who will come into the world?” Jesus, with astonishment in His heart, answered: “Indeed, he is Muhammad (PBUH), the Messenger of God. When he comes into the world, he will make the earth capable of bearing fruit like rain.”
In the Torah, it is written: “And this is the blessing that Moses, the man of God, gave to the children of Israel before his death. He said: The Lord came from Sinai, and rose from Seir to them; He shone forth from Mount Paran, and He came with ten thousand of the saints and believers.” This phrase metaphorically speaks of the emergence of three great divine prophets: Prophet Moses (peace be upon him), Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him), and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). God manifested Himself to Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) at Sinai, appeared to Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) in “Seir,” which is Palestine, and revealed Himself to the Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him) at Mount “Paran” (Paran is a name mentioned in sacred texts referring to a mountain range or a mountainous region in the southern land of Canaan, along the shores of the Red Sea, which is the land where Abraham (peace be upon him) settled Hagar and Ishmael at God’s command).
In the Holy Quran, which is the miracle of Islam and Prophet Muhammad, it is mentioned that Christian and Jewish scholars recognized the Prophet as they would their own children. However, I will explain why they did not follow him in the story of the Mubahala. Muslims believe that Christianity and Judaism are divine religions, but over time they have been distorted, and the content written in the Gospel and the Torah has been altered.
